Chris Palmer was elected to the Prince Edward Island Legislature in a by-election held on October 17, 2016, as the representative for District 21, Summerside-Wilmot.
Chris earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1991 and a Master of Business Administration degree in 2011, both from the University of Prince Edward Island.
Chris, since a young age, has been involved in business owning and operating enterprises ranging from information technology to tourism.
He has been an active volunteer with a number of organizations and groups over the years, including: Summerside Dolphins Swim Club, Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce, College of Piping, Downtown Summerside Inc., Tourism Summerside, Junior Achievement of Prince Edward Island, and the Atlantic Provinces Chamber of Commerce.
On January 10th Premier Wade MacLauchlan appointed Chris to be the Minster of Economic Development and Tourism.
Both he and his wife Kyla, a registered nurse, live in Summerside with their two children, Logan and Sydney.
